The Well and the Highway

Getting to know ourselves is one of the toughest tasks out there—like digging a well in the scorching summer heat. But the reward is just as great, understood only by the thirsty traveler who finally reaches that cool water deep down. This inward journey takes us on a different path, one that demands a special kind of effort.

Does this diminish the importance of external progress? Not at all. Excelling in our work, especially in today’s technology-focused world, is crucial to our survival. Imagine it as driving down a modern highway, heading to the airport to catch the next flight to your destination.

Yet, even as we speed down this highway of progress, it is all too easy to get so caught up in the details of our journey that we lose sight of the essential self behind the wheel. To truly be in the moment, we need to be both inwardly silent and outwardly focused on the task at hand. And finding that balance? Well, that is the real challenge.
