The difficulty of being simple

It is said that there is a great beauty in simplicity.

Also, the advice: simple living, high thinking.

It is not easy to be simple in life.

Whenever a decision must be made, there are choices to be considered.

In this digital age, there are usually many choices available.

If I want to buy something, I go online, and find so many options.

I choose a product that looks okay.

Then I read the review.

If the review is bad, go back to the search.

Life is an MCQ examination, each question with dozens of choices, and there is no answer key.

Or there is a person whom I trust.

Then it is simple. Let this person be called S.

For any question, ask S.

S can answer all my questions, including those where S has no expertise.

Simplicity can be counterproductive.

Or, I study and think, what life is about.

What is my task at hand, and the reason of existence.

Work for a living.

Enjoy with friends and family.

Live a bit for myself, a bit for others.

Think in solitude.

I find the parameters of life.

Only one life, that is, this person’s life.

This is also simple if I can do it.

Although,  it is not generalizable.

I shall never know if this body of knowledge is of any value to another person.

There is a bit of sadness in this, the thinker's sadness.

That is the best I can do.
