The Elusive Silence
What does it truly mean to be silent?
One answer might be a mind devoid of thought. A neighbor once explained the essence of meditation: our minds are like a constant stream of thoughts, one tumbling after another, leaving no space for quietude. If we could introduce a mere two-second gap, even this seemingly impossible feat would be a victory.
But is it truly possible to achieve such a pause in the ever-flowing river of thought?
At the other end of the spectrum lies the individual whose mind is a bustling hive of activity, yet fortunately, this activity is channeled towards positive pursuits, a constant striving for improvement and a growing, balanced joy.
This delicate balance, this dance between silence and mindfulness, is neither sleep nor relentless stimulation, but rather a state of focused, active tranquility. Some may deem it spiritual, but ultimately, what truly matters is the experience itself, beyond the confines of mere words.
