View of opposites

What is light becomes obvious, when one knows the darkness.

A child learning to recognize mango, is also shown fruits that are not mango.

The logic of opposites is given to us since childhood.

In the form of Do's and Dont's.

One prescription: Eat only when hungry.

What happens when I am not hungry, but others beside me are having popcorn and soda, sitting inside a theater watching action-packed sequence?

In a binary setting, one is either right or wrong.

Speak the truth.

What is falsehood?

I say something to brighten a friend who is feeling low. Did I tell a lie?

Once someone did something so extraordinary that I did not have appropriate words of appreciation.

I said, "Well done, proud of you."

Wanted to say much more, but words eluded me.

At times the truth cannot be spoken, but clearly felt.

Someone had said, Literature is that falsehood through which one reaches the Truth.

Literature is a mirror of life.

Life is so mixed with true and false, and a lot of things in the middle!

There are two issues here.

One is being true to life, embrace the heterogeneity. Do not exclude the middle.

The other issue is being true to oneself. Strive for the best that one can be, and do not settle for anything less.

From the meditative silence to boundless merrymaking,

a spectrum of experience unfolds progressively

as I free myself from the false binaries.

  1. The punchline is worthy to be read and read again. That does not mean the culmination to this point was any less thought provoking.
